Palm View

Here's a fun little one I did awhile back when I was dreaming of the Sea. Still dreaming, but at least we're having great weather these days - strange, but great. This is a 6" x 8" oil on panel called "Palm View." Enjoy.

Rising Sun

Log Cradle

This is another from my Glen Helen series. While walking on the trail I came upon this scene. The Glen folks like to leave nature natural, so this scene of grape vines cradling a felled log intrigued me. The painting is a 12" x 9" oil on canvas panel titled, "Log Cradle." It's currently in Klinger Studio in Yellow Springs, Ohio, awaiting adoption. Enjoy.

SOLD - Uphill Trail

Here's a second from my series in Glen Helen. It's a 12" x 9" oil on canvas panel I call "Uphill Trail." Not to brag, but it won first place in Glen Helen's 50th Anniversary Invitational Exhibit in 2010. The painting's scene is the Glen's lovely Inman Trail. The trail has since been restored and so looks a bit different (safer) than when I painted it. The piece, which resided in Springs Gallery in Yellow Springs, Ohio, has now sold. Thank you.

SOLD - Rock Approach

This is a painting I made awhile back in Glen Helen in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Anyone who's been there will recognize the scene - giant stacked rocks seem to appear from nowhere as you're walking up the path. It's a 12" x 9" oil on canvas panel I call "Rock Approach." It's been sold. Thank you!

SOLD - Sycamore Stand

Here's one from the Summer. It's an 8" x 10" oil on canvas I painted at the Woodman Fen in Dayton. I did a whole series (about 10) there. It's a magical place right in the heart of a neighborhood, saved from the dozer by 5 Rivers Metroparks. I call this one "Sycamore Stand." It may already have made an appearance here, but that's okay. It formerly resided at Springs Gallery in Yellow Springs, OH, along with many of its mates, some of which still await adoption. This one has been sold. Thanks.

Abandoned Land

Here's an oldy but goody. It's a site I painted awhile back that was long "Abandoned Land" that I knew had been purchased and was soon to be "developed." I just really liked the way it looked since it had had a chance to be natural for years. Tree Glow

Can't get enough of those trees! As I'm posting this I'm looking outside - the sun is out and it's snowing. Sounds like a painting to me! Anyway, this is another in my 8" x 8" series. Here's a little piece I'm calling "Trees on Ice." It told me its title as I was painting away and suddenly realized it was looking like trees reflecting on ice; that's the way I've been working these days. Young Trees

Lavender Day

It's back to the abstract realm for this one. It's a highly textured, UV varnished, 8" square acrylic on canvas that's ready to hang. I've been calling it "Lavender Day" - don't ask me why. I title my work via stream of consciousness and this just seems like a nice place, and time, to be. Enjoy.

Beaver Sculpture

Here's a companion to the last post. It's a 10" x 8" oil on canvas I painted in the Beavercreek Wetlands also. There was a lot of beaver destruction there which was reeking all sorts of havock but hey, that's what they do. I think there's a strange, natural beauty in their work.
