The Stranger at WSU

Hay Market, Boston, 1972, Toshio Tamaki

Here's info. on a show I'm curating. Tamaki's exquisitely printed black and white documentary images are intriguing and reveal more every time you look at them. This is a great opportunity to see his work.

Toshio Tamaki is a Japanese-born photographer who has been living in the United States since 1970. He makes images wherever he goes, always, he says, from an alien’s point of view. And although he has returned to his homeland of Japan a few times over the years, Tamaki feels himself a stranger there as well.

Learning and Having Fun

I just returned from a great painting workshop in Florida, thanks to my grant from Montgomery County. I learned a lot and had a great time doing it. Still so much to learn but I'm enjoying the process (but hey, that's what life's about - right?).

I'm posting one of my new pieces here. It's an 8" x 10" oil on linen titled Palm Day 2. Others can be seen now (and more soon) on our web site: www.klingerart.com. Enjoy!
